ON / Opus III captures dancers’ attempts to get away from the ground to stay floating in the air. They defy the gravity and play with it. Their bodies alter positions due to centrifugal forces, from a moment of ascendence to a free fall. Unlike the spectacular pole dance, bodies in extreme physicality experience a ritual rotation. A metaphysical experience offered by such a hypnotic and ecstatic project initiated by Krassen Krastev, Caroline Lam, and David Zagari.

Originating from Bulgaria, Krassen Krastev is a Swiss dancer and choreographer active for 30 years. In parallel to performing for many artists and choreographers, he developed personal research on gender and sexuality and in 2002 created the Krassen Krastev Company in Lausanne. After a few choreographic pieces, he worked on a series of short performances inspired by cabaret scenes.

Caroline Lam is a Swiss and French dancer and choreographer of Vietnamese origin. After having danced for a variety of French dance companies, since 2001, she has worked with Swiss companies through diverse performative projects. Her choreographic research centers on polymorphism and she also creates movement and choreography for musicals and operas.

After graduating from the contemporary dance program, David Zagari has worked with diverse international dance companies. In 2008, he started art performances and continues to work collectively in multiform on Bodies and territory. In the Fall of 2020, David Zagari discovered the pole dance and won a bronze medal in the international competition Pole Emotion.
